Life in La Grande

We love living in La Grande. We have a great ward, fun friends, awesome relatives who take care of us. We have our own little house that we are renting so we don't have to worry about neighbors above, below, or connected to us. Our neighborhood can seem a bit sketchy at first sight, but our neighbors are really nice and they even mow our lawn for us! But what we really love about La Grande is how easy it is to go up in the mountains and relax. Enjoy some pictures!

 Morgan Lake
We love going to Morgan Lake. It's beautiful, quiet, full of fish, and best of all it is only 15 minutes away from our house!
Morgan Lake
This is pretty much the size of every single fish in the lake, but I still get super excited every time I get a bite. Dan has to remind me to "Be patient!" "Don't jerk your pole!" "Reel it in slower... okay not that slow!" "Keep your tip down!".... yada yada yada. It's a lot to remember and it all goes out of my mind when I feel that little nibble nibble on my line.

Morgan Lake skyline
The sky was so beautiful! It seems like it is every time we go up there and so every time I say, "Babe, look at how pretty the sky is!" This time Babe replied, "Then take a picture of it". Okay fine, Mr. Smarty-Pants, I will!

Wolf Creek Reservoir
Wolf Creek Reservoir is only about 30 minutes away from our house. For some reason Dan did not understand why I didn't feel to inclined to jump into the FREEZING cold water. I finally just had to push him in and fall in in the process to get myself to go in (yup, learned that trick from Shelbs). We swam for a little bit, but then we started to hear thunder and didn't feel like getting electrocuted so we skedaddled.
Dan is super duper excited for hunting season. He has been practicing shooting his bow a couple evenings a week, going over elk behavior patterns with uncle Reed every time he sees him, and talking hunting at least 5 times a day. I love that he is so excited about it because it kind of rubs off on me and I find myself getting excited as well!

  2. We are so glad you are in our ward. La Grande is a great place for "country folk"! We love being close to the mountains and recreation areas, too! Enjoy your stay! Love you
